Investigating teachers' training programmes at the Faculty of Education, Sciences and Arts from the perspectives of lecturers and students

Abstract

This study aimed to assess teacher preparation program at Turba, Faculty of Education, Science and Arts, Taiz University Branch, from students’/teachers’ viewpoints. The sample of study consisted of 125 males and females students from the 4th  level; selected by using stratified random method from majors, Qur’an, Arabic Language, English Language, Physics, and Mathematics of ratio 40% from each major. The researcher used a questionnaire to measure students assessment of their preparation program consisted of 60 items distributed to five fields.  The results of the study showed that the degree of students’ assessment of their preparation program is median level. The fields of the questionnaire were arranged ordinally based on students’ assessment. They are as follows: the first field was educational faculty syllabuses, second was cultural university syllabuses, third was specialization departmental syllabuses, fourth was methods of teaching, assessment and practicum, and the fifth field was equipment.
