Secondary School Science Teachers' Acquisition of Efficient Teaching: A Viewpoint of Teachers and Their Supervisors in Taiz Governorate

The present study aims at exploring the Science teachers' acquisition of efficient teaching from the viewpoint of teachers and their supervisors in Taiz Governorate. The sample of the study consists of 45 teachers and 25 supervisors. A questionnaire is distributed to 44 skills classified into three categories including Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. After collecting data, results show that teachers' acquisition of efficient teaching including Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation is very high with supervisors and moderate in Evaluation. Results show that there is a lack of the level of significance (α=0.05%) of teachers and supervisors' acquisition of efficient teaching with regards to Planning, whereas there is a level of significance (α=0.05%) with regards to Implementation, and Evaluation which is in favour of teachers' views. This study recommends that the decision makers should help teachers to acquire the efficient teaching skills through workshops and other training activities before and while teaching.
