The reality of practicing the alternative evaluation methods by the teachers of Islamic Education subject and how to develop them in the primary and secondary schools in Lahj governorate

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of practicing the Alternative Evaluation Methods by the teachers of Islamic Education subject and how to develop them in the primary and secondary schools in Lahj governorate and to determine the impact of the variables of gender, academic qualification and years of experience. the study used the descriptive analytical method.

 

     To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher designed a closed questionnaire consisted of (60) items which have been distributed into seven domains. The study sample consisted of (127) teachers (95) male teachers and (32) of them were females. The results found that all areas of the study had a general average of (3.5441) i.e. to a large extent.

 

     The results show that in the level of gender, there are statistically significant differences in favor of males, at the level of years of experience, in the variable of less than 10 years and more than 10 years, there are statistically significant differences in favor of males, at the level of qualification, the differences were more directed in favor of the diploma than the bachelors and postgraduate studies in (business files and self-evaluation). On the other hand, the differences tended in favor of bachelor more than diploma in the other areas.

 

     In the light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended to reconsider the current procedures of evaluation that rely on conventional tests. This means that it is no longer possible for teachers to continue to understand evaluation as similar as examination and for the role of school not to be specified to this scale.
