Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, prayers and, peace be upon the most honorable prophets and messengers, and after.
Scholars have been concerned with the Holy Qur’an since its revelation, and one of the most important types of care is its interpretation and statement of its rulings, and the books of interpretation contained many sayings that vary between correct and weak, acceptable and rejected, and sometimes these statements contradict each other clearly. and the need was for each interpreter to apply regulations and rules on the basis of which he would weigh between these statements and interpretative opinions.
Therefore, this study came to reveal and derive the most important rules of weighting that Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Qurtubi followed in his book (Al Jamie Le Ahkam Al-Qur'an), for matters one of the most important of which is the love of working with the Holy Qur’an, and then the scholars’ praise in the past and the modern on the interpretation of Al-Qurtubi, so we see that it is not sufficient to list words and opinions, but rather He mentions them, discusses them, and weighs them in order to find out which one is closest to the truth in his opinion, which is why many interpreters after him were influenced by him.
This study concluded with a statement of the most important rules of weighting according to Imam Al-Qurtubi, which varied between probabilities related to the sciences of the Qur’an and Sunnah and other linguistic fundamentals. And provide the correct reading on the abnormal.
Al-Qurtubi also focused on the fact that rulings are given precedence over copying, by reconciling the two verses, and considered that the general remains the same unless there is a text of the specification, as he built on the well-known rule (that the lesson is in the generality of the word, not about the reason), and the absolute is over the restricted, and that the absolute order indicates the obligation and does not refer to others except with a presumption, as he went on to state that the order after the ban indicates that it is obligatory. God, I ask for success, help, and rectitude.
