Abstract

The study aimed to identify the requirements for developing curriculum elements in Sharia colleges in the light of promoting volunteer work as perceived by the specialists in curricula, teaching methods, and Sharia sciences. By this, it pursued to present a proposal in the light of those requirements. To achieve such an aim, the researchers used the descriptive survey method. The researchers designed a questionnaire of five constructs representing the main curriculum elements: (objectives, content, teaching strategies, educational activities and techniques, and evaluation). The 36-item questionnaire was presented to the study sample, which consisted of 195 specialists. The findings showed a high degree of agreement with the suggested proposal throughout the five sections. The average of the agreement ranged between 4.40 to 4.70. Accordingly, the researchers presented a proposal for promoting volunteering practice through the curricula of Sharia sciences. The study recommended utilizing this proposal for developing undergraduate Sharia curricula. It also suggested working on planning training programs for faculty members to enable them to develop volunteering skills among students.
