Abstract

This research aimed to deliver a teaching unit based on infographics and assess its effect on developing conceptual understanding and visual thinking skills among students in the second intermediate grade. The study used a quasi-experimental design, in which the sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The study sampled 60 female students in Mithnab's second intermediate grade. Two study tools were developed: a visual thinking skills test and a conceptual understanding test for the second middle grade of the second semester's 'Linear Functions' unit in the subject of Mathematics. The study revealed the following findings: There is a statistically significant difference in mean scores for conceptual understanding and visual thinking skills between the experimental and control groups on the posttest, in favor of the experimental group. It is practical and educationally significant to use an Infographic-based teaching unit to help female students in the second intermediate grade develop conceptual understanding and visual thinking skills.
