The degree to which the school counselor has the skills of crisis counseling in the Qassim educational district from the counselor's point of view

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree to which school counselors possess intervention skills' from the counselor's point of view in the Qassim educational district, and to identify the differences in possessing crisis counseling skills among the study sample in the light of gender, major, experience in the field of school counseling. The Crisis Counseling Skills Scale was developed and applied to a sample of 307 male and female counselors. The findings revealed that the degree of crisis counseling skills of school counselors in the Qassim educational district is at a high degree, with a percentage of 73.963%. In addition, the results revealed that there are statistically significant differences in possessing crisis counseling skills according to the gender variable in favor of females, and the major variable in favor of psychology. The study came out with a number of recommendations based on its findings
